NATIONAL ROOFTOP
SOLAR SCHEME
The PM Surya Ghar Yojana, also known as the Rooftop Solar Yojana or PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, is a scheme launched by the Government of India on February 15, 2024, to promote the installation of rooftop solar panels in residential households. The primary goal is to provide free electricity, reduce electricity bills, and encourage the use of renewable energy. Haryana is actively participating in this scheme, and residents can benefit from the subsidies provided.
Here are the key details regarding the subsidy scheme in Haryana under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana:
Subsidy Structure:
The central government provides subsidies based on the capacity of the rooftop solar plant installed:
For systems up to 2 kW: ₹30,000 per kW.
For additional capacity up to 3 kW: ₹18,000 per kW.
Total subsidy for systems larger than 3 kW: Capped at ₹78,000.
Examples of Subsidy Amounts:
For a 1 kW system: ₹30,000 subsidy.
For a 2 kW system: ₹60,000 subsidy.
For a 3 kW system: ₹78,000 subsidy.
For a system larger than 3 kW (e.g., 4 kW or 5 kW): The maximum subsidy remains ₹78,000.
State-Specific Additional Subsidies for Haryana:
The Haryana government provides additional financial assistance to certain categories of consumers on a first-come, first-served basis for rooftop solar systems up to 2 kW:
Category I: Consumers with an annual family income up to ₹1.80 Lakh are eligible for a State Financial Assistance of up to ₹25,000 per kW or 40% of the billed amount per kW (whichever is lower), up to 2 kW.
Category II: Consumers with an annual family income from ₹1.80 Lakh up to ₹3.00 Lakh are eligible for a State Financial Assistance of up to ₹10,000 per kW or 20% of the billed amount per kW (whichever is lower), up to 2 kW.
